About the role
An excellent career opportunity exists within our farming division to be actively involved working with our ducks. The role requires a person who has enthusiasm and experience in farming who can take on the responsibility of Farm Manager from time to time to cover annual leave and other absences. When not relieving Farm Managers, you will be working with Farm Managers and their teams to assist in the day-to-day running of the farm/s.
We are a friendly team and are looking for a reliable person who enjoys working indoors, outdoors, and with animals. The role offers a variety of interesting tasks to be achieved each day from managing employees to operating machinery to participating in farm maintenance.
Experience working with poultry is highly desirable, and full training specific to this role will be provided.
This is a permanent full-time position and requires availability to work weekends and public holidays and be assigned to various sites.
An attractive benefits package is available for the right candidate with a salary of $72,000 to $78,000, including accommodation by agreement.
Daily duties include:
* Monitoring staff and delegating tasks to maintain the ducks.
* Maintaining husbandry, welfare, and biosecurity standards.
* Operating machinery and equipment.
* Conducting property maintenance.
* Ordering farm supplies.
* Managing reporting systems.
* Facilitating WHS policies and procedures.
* Supervising staff and service providers.
* Looking after farms for other Managers to cover for rostered days off, sick leave, and annual leave.
Skills and Experience required:
* Poultry and/or livestock experience.
* Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
* Able to operate machinery and equipment.
* Physically fit and energetic.
* Current Driver's license.
