We are seeking a talented individual to join our Technology team at Mercer. This role will be based in Melbourne or Sydney. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
As the Head of Investment Technology for the Pacific region, you will be at the forefront of driving technological innovation and supporting the implementation of our global platforms within the local context. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious technology leader ready to take the next step in their career. In this pivotal role, you will have the opportunity to shape the technology landscape that supports our Investments business goals, ensuring that we remain a leader in the industry. You will collaborate with senior leadership to translate their vision into actionable strategies, making a significant impact on our growth and success while inspiring and empowering the broader team.
We will count on you to:
1. Partner with business leaders, product owners, and domain architects to create and execute a multi-year vision for the portfolio of applications, fostering collaboration and innovation.
2. Manage the portfolio budget and drive responsible development aligned to enterprise standards, ensuring that resources are used effectively and sustainably.
3. Assess the impact of pricing versus cost structure on technology roadmaps and proactively identify new technologies that can enhance our offerings.
4. Provide a single point of accountability for customisations needed by geography, business line, or department, simplifying processes and reducing complexity.
5. Collaborate with business Product Owners to prioritise information security requirements and technical debt reduction, ensuring a secure and efficient technology environment.
6. Work closely with shared service leaders regarding incident escalation and remediation development work, promoting a culture of support and teamwork.
What you need to have:
1. Undergraduate degree in Technology, Business, or related fields.
2. At least 10-15 years of relevant and progressive experience, preferably in financial services, investments, insurance, or superannuation/pension funds.
3. Broad IT skills and experience in managing and delivering technology strategy in one or more products.
What makes you stand out:
1. Technical qualifications such as Togaf, ITIL, Prince2, MSP, or CISSP.
2. Demonstrated experience in a senior leadership position partnering with senior business leaders.
3. Proven experience in managing technology strategy and roadmap planning with related budgeting.
