About the opportunity
Based at our Norwest office you will report to the Operations Manager and be a key member of the Estimating Team. In this highly rewarding role, your focus will be on providing leadership to the production estimating team and driving estimating accuracy and efficiency. More specifically, your responsibilities will include:
1. Facilitating the achievement of the estimating team’s targets and workflow
2. Managing estimating workflow, forecasts and cross-checking output to ensure accurate pricing and improve accuracy
3. Continually focusing on ways to optimise systems and processes to achieve greater efficiencies
4. Ensuring procedures and checklists are established and used for all functions and maintain full compliance with company standards
5. Maintaining the quality of all estimating work and monitoring margins, including influencing and negotiating to ensure challenges are resolved and extras to schedule are minimised
6. Coaching and mentoring estimators to identify ways to elevate capability across technical and soft skills
7. Producing and submitting reports and insights to help inform effective decision making
About you
You will share a passion for our purpose to be Australia’s leading residential builder and be aligned to our core values (Think Bigger, People Matter, Better Together and Be Accountable). In addition, you will demonstrate:
1. Positive interpersonal skills, outstanding leadership
2. Foresight and a strategic focus, with effective decision making
3. Proven skills in plan checking and material take-offs
4. Broad residential construction knowledge and can maintain a high level of accuracy with bill creation and item quantities
5. Thorough understanding of the Building Code of Australia
6. Possess a Building Trade Certificate or a minimum Certificate IV in Building and Construction
