Role As a medium sized school, ensuring all organisational aspects are planned and implemented consistently, accurately and with full compliance, is critically important. The Daily Organiser role is key to managing staffing levels and ensuring our commitment to learning and wellbeing and our duty of care for students is met at all times. This role will work alongside and report to one of our Assistant Principals. The position has been allocated a time fraction of 0.4, equivalent to 15.2 hours per week. Attendance in the office between 7.30am and 10.30am each school day is required. The VGSA provides ES staff with 10 weeks of leave (4 weeks Annual, plus 6 weeks Additional Paid Leave). It is not anticipated that work during the school holidays will be required. As an Education Support staff member, the range of duties may be expanded in the future in accordance with the ES Level 1, Range 3 General Duties. Responsibilities The following listed responsibilities are designed to be informative, but not exhaustive, as circumstances and requirements may change over time. ¿ To plan for and allocate daily and short-term replacement classes/duties (including required room changes) using the Daily Organisation program. ¿ Liaise with the Assistant Principal to inform placement of teacher and class allocations in line with the best outcomes for students. ¿ To maintain accurate records of staff absence, replacement classes and CRTs for audit and payment purposes. ¿ Engage Casual Relief Teachers (including induction and monitoring their performance). ¿ Develop and maintain resources to support CRTs in their role (CRT handbook; ICT resources etc). ¿ Work with HR Manager to maintain CRT records and employment documentation. ¿ To utilise Compass/email to communicate with staff in regard to daily organisation. ¿ To provide support to school events which require alterations to normal daily operations managed through the Daily Organisation program. ¿ Be present in the Daily Organiser office daily between 7.30am and 10.30am to meet with CRTs and manage schedule, equipment and key distribution prior to the start of the school day. ¿ Attend staff morning briefings to communicate changes and understand the daily organisation issues and changes needed. ¿ To undertake professional learning and training relevant to the role. Environmental Context Socio-demographic Composition Timboon P-12 School is located on one campus of eight picturesque tree filled hectares, 53 kilometres east of Warrnambool. The town of Timboon is the focal point of a remote, rural community economically dependent on the dairy industry; the development of a local boutique food producers trail is adding to the town¿s tourism appeal created by its proximity to coastal and marine national parks. Timboon P-12 School is close to tourist destinations along the Shipwreck Coast and this provides employment in the hospitality industry. Agribusiness, gas production, education and health services also provide valuable employment. The school has a modern School/Community Library, industry-standard Food Technology, school hall, metalwork and woodwork facilities, a canteen, Agri-centre and shares a sporting complex with the local community. In 2019 the school officially opened a $5-Million-dollar redevelopment. This included a brand-new secondary wing with classrooms and specialist spaces. There are open spaces for students but also traditional classrooms. The primary campus moved into redeveloped classroom in 2019, previously occupied by the Secondary. The primary section is spread over 3 buildings including the original school built in 1948. Curriculum Provision The school provides a comprehensive curriculum with a strong focus on literacy and numeracy. Instruction is based on teaching students at the point of need, using Gradual Release of Responsibility to develop independence and enhance the engagement of all students. Curriculum initiatives include; Sounds Write, Primary Science, STEM and ICT curriculum, and a wide selection of VET subjects. An extensive list of VCE and VCE VM subjects is available to students. An integrated curriculum program and unit system address the domains of Science, Humanities/History, Design and Technology, The Arts, Civics and Citizenship, Health, and LOTE which are cross-referenced with literacy. Extra-Curricula The school is an active participant in district sports, including team and individual events.
