Job Summary
We are seeking passionate and driven individuals who are eager for career progression and want to take on the role of Café or Restaurant Supervisor.
We have multiple positions available across Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide exceptional service to external and internal guests at all times.
• Ensure smooth and efficient food and beverage service within allocated sections, anticipating guest needs before being asked.
• Assign team member duties, ensuring rotation of job tasks and maximizing productivity.
• Conduct pre-service and post-service briefings (where required).
• Support the Head of Department in ensuring thorough inductions, ongoing training, and formal training sessions for team members.
• Assist in preparing training plans and conducting on-the-job training sessions.
• Participate in performance development appraisals when required.
• Maintain par levels and order stock as needed.
• Monitor rosters according to legislation and business levels, ensuring adequate staffing and operating within budgetary guidelines.
• Understand licensing and operating legislation affecting the department.
• Complete operational reports daily, establishing workable records for future forecasting.
• Ensure consistent food quality and provide feedback to the chef regarding sales, wastage, menu changes, or special requests.
• Establish open channels of communication between departments to ensure smooth operations.
• Ensure the department is ready for service at scheduled operating times.
• Reconcile daily takings.
• Ensure team members have strong product knowledge of ingredients, preparation methods, and presentation of menu items and buffet offerings.
• Ensure team members have knowledge of wine styles on the outlet wine list.
• Perform opening and closing procedures to acceptable standards.
• Report maintenance work required in the vicinity of the outlet to the Head of Department.
• Assist guests with inquiries and complaints, providing accurate information about property facilities and features.
Qualifications
A current RSA certificate is essential.
A strong understanding of restaurant day-to-day operations is required.
A passion for sequence of service and creating exceptional customer experiences.
A well-rounded leader with teamwork skills.
Additional Information
Base hourly rate $28.87 equivalent to $57,047.12 - $67,000 based on working days and penalties applicable under the Hospitality Industry General Award.
