The Opportunity
Due to continued business growth, Water Technology requires an experienced Ecologist or Senior (terrestrial), to be based in our Paramatta Office (we are flexible with this as long as you are NSW based), but field work is also a regular part of the job. Here you will join a close-knit team of industry leading professionals, where staff are truly valued and an open, innovative, and supportive culture is encouraged.
In this role you will enjoy a variety of work by partnering with local and federal government, regulatory authorities, and private organisations. You will have the opportunity to provide leadership and support on a range of projects:
1. Supervise others and utilise your established contacts & networks for business development.
2. Delivering high quality expert advice and managing stakeholders internally & externally.
3. Mixture of field and office based projects.
4. Manage your own projects with support from other teams as needed.
5. Lead ecological field investigations, report preparation & biodiversity assessments across NSW.
6. Undertake broader environmental investigations and impact statements .
About You
As an established or emerging leader (6+ years post grad) you will ideally possess:
7. Degree qualified ecologist with significant post-graduate experience (6+ years), preferably within a consulting environment.
8. Demonstrated botanical identification skills.
9. Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
10. Strong project management skills.
11. Working knowledge of relevant NSW and Commonwealth environmental legislation.
12. Sound experience within Sydney Basin ecology and undertaking ecological survey in the vegetation communities of NSW.
13. BAM Accreditation and/or bushfire planning accreditation would be highly regarded, but not essential.
14. Drivers licence and reliable car .
