About the Role:
* Support young people to develop life skills and independence.
* Model positive behavior through social learning, emotional intelligence, and community involvement.
* Promote democracy and encourage participation in decision-making processes that impact their lives.
* Assist with daily household tasks as needed, including cleaning, grocery shopping, and meal preparation.
The ITC System:
* Focuses on Therapeutic Care and recovery from trauma.
* Offers an alternative to long-term residential care.
* Prioritizes safety and protection for children and young people.
* Provides clear pathways to less intensive services and permanency.
* Offers a range of placement options for mental health, physical health, and education outcomes.
Primary Objectives:
* Deliver trauma-informed services with positive outcomes for young people and families.
* Ensure young people receive safety, stability, predictability, and consistency by implementing house guidelines and individual strategies.
* Participate in team, house, and case review meetings to tailor services to individual needs.
Key Selection Criteria:
To be successful, you will have:
* A Diploma in Youth Work, Community Services, or equivalent qualification.
* Demonstrated experience in youth services, residential care, or supported accommodation.
* Knowledge of Aboriginal culture and values, and awareness of current issues affecting Aboriginal communities.
* Experience working therapeutically with children and young people who have experienced trauma.
Requirements:
* A valid and current driver's license.
* Satisfactory criminal history check.
* Valid working with children check.
* NDIS workers screening check.
