Ashford Hospital has 9 operating theatres, 1 procedure room, 2 angiography labs, an emergency department, maternity services, 24/7 cardiac emergency centre and a 24 bed level 3 critical care unit.

The Clinical Nurse will be responsible for supporting the Nurse Unit Manager in leading, coaching and mentoring junior staff in providing excellent PACU care to our patients through evidence-based practice.
Candidates possessing excellent interpersonal skills, a genuine desire to develop and educate others, and a desire to be part of a market-leading quality team will be highly sought after.
As a Clinical Nurse your responsibilities will include:
1. Develop a professional portfolio including WHS, Education and Training, Leadership and Quality Improvement
2. Work in partnership with the Nurse Unit Managers to provide leadership and support to the team
3. Provide guidance to staff on clinical issues, National Standards and relevant legislation
4. Assist the Nurse Unit Managers in the rollout of change management in a positive manner and consolidation of clinical practice
5. Understanding of risk management principles.
6. Support nursing practice and learning experiences for students undertaking clinical placements, orientation for new staff and preceptorship of Graduates
7. Work effectively as part of a team
Essential requirements/skills:
1. Excellent Customer Service and High level interpersonal/communication skills
2. PACU experience across multiple surgical specialties
3. Critical thinking skills and knowledge of Anesthetic and Recovery equipment use
4. Excellent time management and self-motivated organizational skills
5. A desire to assist in leadership
6. Ability to lead staff in a manner that is encouraging and supportive
7. Ability to demonstrate resilience

If you are successful, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant nursing experience against the current nursing Enterprise Agreement the ‘Adelaide Community Healthcare Alliance (ACHA) & Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation (ANMF) South Australian Branch – Nurses’ & Midwives – Enterprise Agreement – 2021-2024 (‘Agreement’ or ‘Enterprise Agreement’)’ (salaries range between $31.07-$53.49 per hour).
