Melbourne, VIC, Australia and 1 moreJob DescriptionOpportunity to join Westpac’s Institutional Banking TeamEstablished career path and progression opportunitiesMelbourne or Sydney based permanent roleHow will I help?Westpac Institutional Bank (WIB) manages the financial needs of corporate, institutional and government clients that are based, or have interests in, Australia and New Zealand.Within WIB’s Energy & Infrastructure (E&I) industry team, the CI&A team aspires to provide high quality origination and delivery of customer and strategic insights for a diverse group of Energy & Infrastructure clients.You will also:As a Credit Analyst in the E&I team focusing on Corporate and Institutional Energy & Infrastructure (E&I) clients across Australia. You will be responsible for high quality origination and delivery of customer and industry insights to differentiate our sales proposition, manage portfolio risk and provide robust credit analysis to support and deliver sustainable credit decisions, within a Corporate and Institutional banking environment.You will own the origination process for new transactions to grow the portfolio and the ongoing monitoring and management of the client portfolio as a junior credit analyst working alongside senior credit analysts. You will also build and maintain strong working relationships and partnerships with our Relationship Managers, your analyst peers, and our clients where you will help initiate and structure a range of banking transactions.Portfolio management: Supporting CIB Relationship Managers and analysts to strengthen credit analysis and processes.Deal team participation on new to bank E&I opportunities providing general transaction and credit analysis support.Provide research and support to implement the E&I Sector strategies.Delivery of revenue and balance sheet growth targets in line with KPIs.Achieving portfolio management and hygiene in line with KPIs including maintaining WIB’s commitment to high standards in credit assessment and exposure management.Write credit submissions including detailed risk analysis and financial forecasting and be able to present and negotiate submissions through WIB’s risk management decision process.Ensure that all aspects of the credit process, including the required due diligence, are properly executed.Determine the suitability of proposals, including acceptability of credit risk and structuring for final approval by a Credit Officer.What’s in it for me?You’ll play a significant part in the future of a business that has been around for over 200 years. And we continue to pay your super contributions while you take all the time you need to get your new family settled.What do I need?Demonstrated knowledge of Australian energy and infrastructure sectors.Experience in Credit Analysis within a wholesale or corporate and Institutional banking environment.Demonstrate strong attention to detail and relationship building ability with a variety of stakeholders and external clients.Knowledge of the corporate loan market (terms and conditions, distribution issues, etc.) and related banking products commonly used by corporate clients.Good understanding of Sustainability and Climate change related issues impacting the Energy sector.Solid Cash Flow modelling skills.Communication and influencing skills required to manage relationships with stakeholders.Experience applying a risk mindset and commercial acumen.What’s it like to work there?We are a collaborative team of passionate people with a shared ambition to make a difference for our customers, our communities and each other.
