ABOUT THE ROLE
The Survey Team at Mount Magnet are seeking an Open Pit Mine Surveyor to join the team.
You will be responsible for provide accurate measurement and recording of the Open Pit Mine workings. Working 8 days on, 6 days off, this is a permanent opportunity FIFO from Perth or BIBO/DIDO from Geraldton.
Reporting to the Open Pit Manager this role will involve:
* Gather accurate data to assist the Senior Mine Surveyor to generate mine operation plans.
* Complete survey of stockpile volume calculations, EOM pickups, ore block layout, control for mining as-builts, waste dump construction control, cavity monitoring and producing plans and maps.
* Ensuring all excavations are picked up and conducting timely analysis and reporting on resultant data.
* Installing appropriate control in pit, crests, toe, ramps to ensure the area is excavated on design.
* Monitor prisms in accordance with Mine’s Ground Control Management Plans.
* Accurately collect and enter mining data into the system databases, and network drives in line with applicable legislation.
* Produce digging memos, drilling memos, development memos, traffic management plans, emergency plans and statutory mine plans.
* Produce, review and submit reports as per the Senior Surveyor and Senior Mining Engineers’ requirements.
* Maintain suitable mine controls for survey accuracy in line with applicable legislation.
* Identify and report potential hazards and eliminate risk taking behaviours.

ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role, we would like to see:
* Diploma or Tertiary Degree in Surveying
* Previous experience in an open pit mining environment.
* Proficiency in mine survey software and equipment.
* Knowledge of GPS software and equipment (Trimble).
* Knowledge of UAV processing software (Agisoft).
* Numeracy and written communication skills for report writing.
* Experience conducting aerial photogrammetry and/or other drone surveying.
* A West Australian C class driver’s license (manual) and the ability to obtain a National Police Clearance for site access clearance purposes.
