The role
The Control Systems Engineer will provide specialist analysis, technical and support services associated with the automation of treatment plants, pumping stations, reservoirs and other process infrastructure. The role will proactively identify new opportunities to leverage existing and emerging technologies to deliver ongoing improvements and efficiencies while implementing, enhancing and developing Operational Technology systems, ensuring quality, improved security posture and uninterrupted service.
The position will provide specialist technical services associated with the automation and telemetry technology and projects for Gippsland Water’s Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition (SCADA) infrastructure including review and improvement of those technologies to deliver on Gippsland Water’s commitment to digital and broader business transformation objectives.
What you’ll bring
A tertiary qualification in Engineering.
Registered Professional Engineer in Victoria or eligible within 24 months.
Demonstrated ability to deliver high level customer focused technical advice.
An advanced understanding of the application of modern software and hardware of control equipment and systems.
A sound understanding of the needs for real time and historical data to optimise operations and decision making.
High level interpersonal skills in order to develop and maintain sound working relationships.
Highly developed project management skills and the ability to manage contracts.
Demonstrated analytical, critical and lateral thinking ability with a focus on continuous improvement.
Ability to problem solve, prioritise and troubleshoot in a technical environment.
