We are looking for a Tourism Research Analyst to analyse and report on tourism analysis and trends; and deliver meaningful research insights to Tourism Tasmania and its stakeholders across the Visitor Economy.

What you'll be responsible for:
1. Undertaking reporting and insights requirements by bringing together and analysing diverse data sources and inputs.
2. Managing research requests from a range of sources and providing relevant analysis and interpretation to stakeholders that is on time and to a high quality.
3. Supporting the broader research program needs with quantitative and desktop analysis as well as regular reporting requirements.
4. Supporting the development and reporting of performance measures across cross-functional teams.
5. Supporting the R&I team needs and broader research program across all methodologies, including qualitative and bespoke research projects.
What you'll work on:
6. Undertake research and analysis on tourism related topics using new and conventional data sources.
7. Interpret data from a range of information sources within Tourism Tasmania’s broader research program, including primary and secondary data and data provided by marketing partners.
8. Contribute to the design, analysis and visualisation of research using a range of methodologies, supported by the ethical, strategic, and effective management of data.
9. Coordinate, assess and respond to research requests from internal and external stakeholders, including contributing to the scoping, development, and design of research services where necessary.
10. Perform a range of project analysis, desk research tasks, including the preparation of project briefs, correspondence, minutes and reports.
11. Develop and maintain stakeholder relationships with providers of tourism research and build knowledge regarding market intelligence sources.

You are a quantitative researcher with at least 2 years research and insights work experience behind you. You enjoy crunching numbers and have curiosity as to how a world of changing consumers, competitors and technology will transform sectors. You are restless enough to find better ways of doing things, testing them, and bringing those recommendations forward. You are excited about the potential of strong brands, value of customer relationships, and services of tomorrow. You have a creative mind with an appetite for problem solving, have impressive attention to detail and communicate for impact.
Desirable requirements:
12. A research degree or equivalent tertiary qualification.
13. Experience with Power BI tool would be highly regarded.
14. Qualitative research methods experience.
15. Understanding of types of data provided through digital and mobile channels.
16. Understanding of design thinking and agile methodologies.
