Join our Yarra Valley Home team on a Part Time or Casual basis as an experienced Cook or Food Service Assistant (Kitchenhand) or a Housekeeper (Cleaner/Laundry Attendant) and feel supported with ongoing training.
Cook Role is a Permanent Part Time Weekend Role (Saturday and Sunday).
As Cook you’ll:
1. Work alongside the Chef to assist with kitchen management
2. Tailor meals to meet individual needs and preferences
3. Ensure our residents are provided with healthy, nutritious and delicious meals
4. Support the broader kitchen team to deliver a memorable dining experience
You’ll be a real team player who:
5. A Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
6. Great communication and documentation skills
7. Some experience within a commercial kitchen (Aged care highly regarded)
8. A healthily amount of experience with a broad range of cuisines, dietary requirements in response to social, spiritual & cultural needs of our residents
As a Food Service Assistant (Kitchenhand)
You’ll wake up each morning wanting to see people enjoy food as much as you do. Here’s what a typical day involves:
9. Prepping and serving food and drink.
10. Cleaning – you bring a sparkle to the place in more ways than one.
11. Changing up the menu. You’ll work with our team and residents to create exciting meals that cater to every individual.
12. Keeping records as part of our Food Safety Program.
13. Being active and on your feet for most of your shift.
You’ll be a real team player who has:
14. A real desire to make a difference in people’s lives
15. Experience in kitchen work (aged care is a bonus)
16. Great time management and planning skills
17. Completed the Basic Food Handling Course
Housekeeper (Cleaner/Laundry Attendant) Role:
In this busy role, you’ll:
18. Take pride in ensuring a clean, hygienic and safe home for our residents to enjoy everyday
19. Be a valued team member delivering to highest standards of cleanliness and safety, you’ll make a positive difference to the presentation of, and service within, the home
20. Join a fun and dedicated team of aged care professionals who strive to enrich and celebrate the lives of our residents
You’ll be a team player who:
21. Has excellent attention to detail where the delivery of health and hygiene standards are critical and a commitment to Work, Health and Safety principles is a must
22. Is positive, warm, empathetic and has a can-do approach to excel in this valued role
23. Implements and manages a hygiene maintenance system of auditing and site inspections for the home to assist in delivering operational excellence
