The Position
Kempe Engineering is currently seeking to employ a Senior Engineering Workshop Supervisor to work at our client site at Coolaroo, Victoria in a recycling and paper manufacturing mill.
The position includes managing the onsite team of trades personnel to complete overhauls, repairs and assemblies of components. The job involves the management of machine shop, fabrication, assembly equipment and processes. You will require an excellent technical knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes as well as the ability to interface with the client.
Key Responsibilities
1. Work in a safe and productive manner.
2. Technical management of work processes.
3. Assist in the continual improvement of Kempe’s processes.
4. Provide technical support to ensure all works are completed to all health, safety, environment and quality requirements.
5. Liaising with client engineers to meet re-work priorities and progress, and issue follow up.
6. Work order and work team supervision.
7. Transform, implement and deliver workplace culture transformation within the work teams.
8. QA Systems, processes and procedures to meet ISO accreditation.
9. Constant improvement processes systems and procedures.
10. Improvements to deliver targets and KPIs.
11. Improved technical practices for the team.
12. Develop and maintain strong healthy relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
13. Guide and mentor apprentices.
To be Successful in the role you will have
1. Pro-active safety focus.
2. A mechanical trade qualification as a fitter and turner including boiler making experience.
3. Experience in leading and managing small work teams.
4. The ability to work as part of a team.
5. Computer literate, able to work with Microsoft Office suite.
