The Company Are you an experienced Financial Controller looking for an opportunity to make a meaningful impact? Our client, a well-respected Not-for-Profit, is undergoing a large-scale transformation project and is seeking a skilled Financial Controller to lead their finance function on a temp to perm basis. As the Financial Controller, you will play a pivotal role in managing financial operations, overseeing budget cycles, and driving financial strategy during a period of change. You will lead a team of four direct reports and work closely with senior leadership to ensure financial integrity and strategic decision-making. The Role Reporting to the CFO, you will be responsible but not limited to the below. Oversee financial operations and ensure compliance with NFP financial regulations. Lead two major budget cycles concurrently: Program Mobilisation Budget - Develop assumptions and budgets for a submitted tender to expand service delivery in employment services, planning for multiple possible outcomes. FY26 Organisational Budget Process - Manage end-to-end budgeting, including costings and financial planning. Provide strategic financial insights to support organisational growth and sustainability. Lead and mentor a team of four finance professionals, fostering a high-performance culture. Collaborate with key stakeholders to support transformation initiatives and improve financial processes. Oversee payroll operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing. Drive payroll process improvements to enhance efficiency and reporting capabilities. Ensure completion of statutory reporting requirements related to payroll and financial operations. Your Profile Proven experience as a Financial Controller in an NFP or government Strong budgeting expertise, including managing complex budget cycles and financial modelling. Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a high-performing team. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a strategic mindset. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills. Experience in payroll process improvement and statutory reporting.
