An opportunity exists for talented and enthusiastic Staff Development Midwife to join the Team in Broome for a fixed term or permanent position on a part time basis. If you are currently an Endorsed Midwife, we would also encourage you to apply for this role.
This is a Fixed Term Part Time appointment at 48 hours per fortnight. Casual appointments may also be considered.

Demonstrated advanced clinical skills and competencies related to Maternity. High level communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills. Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work with minimal supervision and in a team environment and use high levels of initiative to achieve required outcomes. The Staff Development Midwife is responsible for the education needs of the unit, inclusive of supporting junior workforce and maintaining annual competency requirements.
They contribute to the attainment of Health Service goals by ensuring opportunities for the development and assurance of clinical competence of midwifery staff in the Maternity unit. The Staff Development Midwife contributes to clinical and professional updates, identifies educational needs, and prepares, conducts, and facilitates training.

WACHS Kimberley consists of six hospitals, an inpatient mental health unit, three Community Directorates and a Corporate Office. WACHS Kimberley provides hospital, community health, public health, remote area health, community aged care, and mental health services across the region through a dedicated team of medical, nursing, Aboriginal health, allied health, and support staff.
