We have restored the collection of former government buildings to include an exciting mix of hotel, hospitality and retail spaces.RoleThe Maintenance Officer works closely with the Maintenance Manager in the daily operations of the State Buildings.DutiesAs an ambassador for our commitment to individuality and personalised service, you will use your expertise to maintain quality standards and procedures.Your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:Work closely with the Maintenance Supervisor to establish job priorities and scheduleRespond to Grounds / Maintenance requestsMaintain cleanliness and order in the work area, maintain tools, gardening equipment and products, and keep work areas free from hazardsUse machinery, equipment and tools correctly and in a safe mannerAssist with the maintenance of Cathedral Square on a daily basis including garbage bin removal, sweeping, scrubbing, removing debris in gardens and general upkeep of the aforementioned areaMaintain all plants in hotel and guest areasControl operating supplies in order to reduce wastageCo-operate and liaise closely with outside contractorsSkills & ExperienceWe are seeking an individual with at least 2 years’ experience as a Maintenance Officer, preferably in the hotel or hospitality industry. A trade background is an advantage.You will have sound knowledge in general building maintenance, painting, and repairs. Strong communication, organisational, and time management skills are essential, along with the ability to work within a team and independently.The role will require an exceptional level of communication, excellent written and spoken English, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
