How you will create an impact
As the Environmental Impairment Liability Manager for APAC & Australia, you will be responsible for managing the underwriting of new and renewal policies for Pollution Legal Liability and Contractors Pollution Liability exposures. You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining strong market relationships, executing sophisticated business development activities, attending client and broker meetings, discussing client risk, AIG’s product, and presenting AIG EIL underwriting appetite. This role is a great combination of a very technical product, environmental risk knowledge, as well as market facing business development.
Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
• Underwriting environmental business including new and renewal business within authorities granted and in accordance with profit centre guidelines including reviewing and signing-off referrals from underwriters from across the Casualty team.
• Assist in developing business plans, strategies and budgets and carry out the appropriate functions within the business plan.
• Be responsible for the achievement of business mix goals focusing on the implementation of strategy and the redeployment of capacity.
• Establish/Maintain strong customer/industry relationships including:
- Broker relationships at all levels with indigenous and international broking firms
- Direct relationships with clients where possible
- Good working relationships with competitors on coinsurance accounts
- Solid relationships with the reinsurance market
What you’ll need to succeed
• Extensive Underwriting experience across Environmental products and Industries including Pollution Legal Liability and Contractors Pollution Legal Liability.
• Entrepreneurial and Solution based approach to Underwriting whilst maintaining and demonstrating a high degree of technical skill
• Proven working relationship with key Broking partners.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English), combined with the ability to influence people
• Possess relationship management and strong interpersonal skills
