About the role:
As a Treatment Plant Operator, you will be responsible for the operation of a Unitywater sewage treatment or recycled water plant, ensuring compliance with both Unitywater and legislative standards. This role is based in the Sunshine Coast region and will involve working across Kawana, Maleny, and Landsborough Treatment Plants.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Monitoring and controlling plant processes, SCADA, and online monitoring systems to maintain required treatment standards, while carrying out tasks assigned by the Operator-in-Charge.
* Collaborating with Field Services to issue work orders and ensure timely servicing, repairs, and maintenance of equipment, ensuring all assets remain in optimal working condition.
* Completing daily data logs and reports, including computerized spreadsheets.
* Actively participating in Unitywater safety audits and inspections to demonstrate leadership and commitment to safety practices.
About you:
To contribute to Unitywater’s values of Reliability, Safety, Honesty & Integrity, Efficiency, One Team, Innovation, you will demonstrate the following skills and qualities for the role:
* Relevant industry qualifications such a Certificate III in sewage treatment plant operation or equivalent.
* A practical and working knowledge with hardware, software, instrumentation, communications, and process control associated with sewage treatment and recycled water plants.
* An understanding of OH&S requirements, particularly risk assessments.
* Record keeping, report writing and document control experience using an Integrated Management System.
* Strong interpersonal and written communication skills, coupled with time and project management skills.
* Computer literacy with the Microsoft Office Suite of programs and software solutions specific to the team’s core business (e.g. SCADA).
* High level investigative, analytical and research skills.
* C Class Driver’s Licence.
