Education-focussed staff (as a subset of the Teaching and Research category of employment) at Monash are an elite category of the academy who focus on and contribute to the innovation of education and leading the design and delivery of education at the University. This position will primarily focus on teaching into the undergraduate core and elective studio units in the Department of Fine Art. In consultation with the Head of Fine Art and Course Coordinator the academic will devise and teach offerings into the studio programmes. The Lecturer (Education focussed) will also be expected to draw on their specialist technical and material skills that align with the current programme foci. This must include knowledge and practical experience from a painting and/or expanded painting practice, with the ability to engage these practices in a dynamic manner in relation to their pedagogic, discursive and theoretical contexts. About You The ideal candidate will hold a doctoral qualification in Fine Art or a related discipline; however, we will also consider candidates with a Master's qualification that have equivalent research and teaching experience appropriate for the relevant discipline area You will have a track record of effective teaching within a tertiary environment, in a manner that motivates, engages and inspires students to learn You will have a demonstrated experience in curriculum development within higher education, building on and extending existing strengths in the Department of Fine Art About Monash University At Monash, work feels different.
