MMG Rosebery Rosebery is an underground polymetallic base metal mine located in the township of Rosebery in Tasmania, Australia.
The mine is a deep, sub-level open stoping operation with complex mining conditions.
The Rosebery Mine has been at the heart of the Rosebery community since 1936 and is one of Tasmania's largest and oldest continuously operating, underground mines producing zinc, copper and lead concentrates, as well as gold doré.
It supports approximately 500 employees and their families, has a strong community focus and engages a wide range of local businesses from across Tasmania in its supply chain boosting the economy of the West Coast of Tasmania and beyond.
The mine has a strong future, with extensive exploration activities which have continued to grow the resource and require mine planning beyond 10 years of continued operation.

Field Technician We are seeking an experienced Senior Field Technician to join our team in Geology.
This role plays a critical role in supporting all diamond drilling activities through the effective management of coreshed operations and surface drill site preparations at Rosebery.
You will be responsible for leading a group of technicians, to oversee the daily operations of the core processing facility and process drill core efficiently and accurately undertaking metre marking, core orientation, geotechnical logging, photography, cutting, sampling and measuring specific gravity, hardness and RQD.

Competencies, qualifications and skills: Minimum of 5 years of experience in core processing or a similar role, preferably in the mining or exploration industry.
Proficiency in using core processing equipment and software.
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team with strong communication and interpersonal skills Commitment to safe operating practices, demonstrated duty of care and environmental compliance Forklift operator ticket and First Aid Certification (desirable) Key responsibilities will include (however not limited to): Implement and maintain standard operating procedures for core logging, cutting, photographing, and storage.
Operate and maintain core processing equipment, including saws, cameras, and logging software.
Ensure accurate labelling, cataloguing, and storage of core samples.
Prepare and dispatch samples for external laboratory analysis, ensuring compliance with chain-of-custody requirements.
Compile and maintain records and databases of core processing activities and results.
Ensure all consumables are adequately stocked, stored, and ordered in a timely manner.
Conduct exploration fieldwork as directed including site preparation, track clearing, track maintenance and rehabilitation.
Perform other duties as required by the Geology Superintendent or Geologists to support the overall success of the drilling and exploration programs.
Adhere to and promote safety standards and environmental compliance in all core processing activities.
