In this role, you'll: Work within our Infrastructure & Place Technical Services division as part of Transport Structural Bridge Engineering team providing specialist engineering advice and services for bridges and structures to achieve durable bridges and structures which perform to standard and expectation and minimise technical risk to Transport for NSW. This will happen in a matrix style structure delivering outcomes to our internal clients and will support our external partners.You will be part of various projects happening across NSW, having significant impact on how these projects are shaped and delivered. You will also ensure quality for the lifespan of the assets. You will be required to travel to bridge sites across NSW, but your office-based workplace will be in Parramatta. Transport is undergoing a rapid digital transformation, and you will have the opportunity to harness state of the art technologies to assist in the role.Fixed-term position until December 2026. About you: You are a qualified Structural Engineer with a strong background in bridge engineering, particularly in structural analysis and assessment. Your expertise in advanced structural analysis, including medium to long-span bridges of various materials, is a key strength. You apply sound engineering judgement to rank the structural significance of bridge members and conduct simple analyses to identify failure modes and determine traffic load ratings, often going beyond current design codes by utilising databases of load-rated bridges.You are eager to learn from experienced regional bridge inspectors and value collaboration. You also have experience preparing inspection documents, including WHS requirements, and can systematically record findings and make appropriate recommendations. Strong communication skills enable you to influence technical decisions.You are comfortable with frequent travel and working in remote locations for up to five consecutive days, including early starts on-site when required.Essential Requirements: Civil engineering degree from an Australian university or an equivalent overseas qualification acceptable for professional recognition within Australia is essential.
