About the Role This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Officer to join the Department of Microbiology and Immunology, at the Peter Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity (Doherty Institute), University of Melbourne.
The Project Officer will be working on international programs led by the Doherty Institute supported by the UK Government-funded Fleming Fund Program.
The Fleming Fund Fellowship Program supports capacity building and training initiatives for the prevention and surveillance of AMR, using a One Health approach.
The Doherty Institute's Fleming Fund program works across five countries in South and Southeast Asia, and links in with a collaborative international network of Fleming Fund-funded institutions and resources.
Your responsibilities will include: Provide project management and coordination across global health antimicrobial resistance capacity building and training programs.
Support management of project work plan, budgeting, monitoring of progress and milestones, and contribution to project and financial reporting as required.
Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team to progress project activities, through support for coordination of project personnel activities, meetings, assisting with planning of workshops and training, and facilitating communication across collaborators as required.
Who We Are Looking For To be successful in this role you will be proactive, detail-focused, have a positive attitude, and enjoy working collaboratively with a dynamic internationally distributed team to deliver against high expectations.
You will bring your excellent communication skills, with the ability to relate effectively with a range of stakeholders.
You will also have: A tertiary qualification in public health, global health, or a related field.
Excellent ability to support the development of project plans and timelines, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and monitor project progress.
Demonstrated problem solving/analytics skills.
A high level of self-motivation and initiative in the organisation of group activities, workshops and meetings.
