About Our Role
An exciting casual opportunity exists for a suitably experienced and qualified Maintenance Fitter/Machinist to join our high-performing maintenance team at Devonport facility.
Simplot Devonport is home to our frozen vegetable manufacturing plant which produces 80,000 tonnes of frozen vegetables for Birds Eye, Edgell and private label brands each year. Having opened in 1942, we have a proud history within our local community.
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the role will provide fitting / mechanical support to our large scale production operations and will work a variety of days Mon - Fri (07:00-15:30)
With base rate of $46.12 (incl 25% casual loading) + overtime opportunities (where applicable), this is a great opportunity for those suitably certified tradespeople looking to demonstrate their competency in the fitting / mechanical field.
What You Will Do
4. Participate and contribute to all site safety activities
5. Ensure a variety of plant & equipment incl. food preparation, cutting equipment, high speed packaging equipment, pumping systems, conveyors and sorting equipment is maintained per the maintenance schedule
6. Preventative, predictive, breakdown and corrective maintenance activities
7. Work in conjunction with other on-site trades (electricians + contractors) to ensure job scope is completed to a high standard specification.
8. Contribute to continual improvement processes
9. Work with automated equipment
10. Use of MEX (CMMS) and other windows based system
11. Assist with our annual site shut down maintenance activities
12. Provide support for our Packing Deprtment maintenance day (every 2nd Monday)
Experience Details
13. Possess a 100% commitment to safety in the workplace
14. Hold a current Cert III Engineering (Mechanical) or equivalent
15. Ability to provide annual leave and shift coverage (with appropriate notice)
16. Demonstrated experience with preventative, predictive, breakdown and corrective maintenance activities (incl. fault finding and troubleshooting)
17. Experience in safety & quality systems and procedures
18. Pneumatics and hydraulics experience will be advantageous
19. Experience within an FMCG industry plant will be highly regarded (but not essential)
20. Sound judgment and decision making ability
21. Possess a high level of both written and verbal communication skills in addition to time management skills
22. Ability to work proactively whilst unsupervised whilst also being able to work within a team environment
23. Be an intermediate user of Windows and associated suite of Microsoft products
