In this role, you'll:
As the Rail Maintainer, Mechanical you will:
1. Inspect, service, overhaul, and repair systems, equipment, and components on our Tangara Fleet.
2. Complete train upgrades and modifications to align our fleet with modern technology standards, including fabrication, retrofits, rework, fitting, and general installation activities.
3. Report directly to the Maintenance Shift Managers and Team Leaders, collaborating with a team of Rail Maintainers and Engineering support staff.
You will be part of an experienced team dedicated to repairing the Tangara fleet at either the Flemington Maintenance Centre or Auburn Maintenance Centre.
You have a mechanical trade qualification and relevant mechanical heavy engineering or maintenance experience as well as being an accomplished fault finder, strong communicator, and lateral thinker.
You possess strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve complex mechanical issues.
You have proven ability to organise and prioritise tasks, be flexible and resourceful with a high degree of initiative.
You are capable of working independently or collaboratively to solve problems and complete tasks effectively.
