Canyon Solar is entering a high growth phase as we transition from a startup to a scale-up. This role provides an exciting opportunity to grow with the company as we look to build a world class team.
Responsibilities:
The Production Manager will oversee Canyon Solar’s production operations, working closely with the project, development, and site teams. They will play a critical role in ensuring that our Solar Pods are manufactured efficiently, to the highest quality standards, and delivered on time to support our projects. Specific responsibilities include:
* Production Planning and Scheduling: Develop and manage production schedules to meet project timelines and ensure optimal utilization of resources.
* Quality Assurance: Implement and oversee quality control processes to ensure that all products meet required specifications and standards. Address quality issues promptly and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
* Inventory and Supply Chain Management: Coordinate with procurement to manage inventory levels, oversee the receipt of materials, and ensure timely availability of components for production.
* Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the production team, fostering a culture of safety, collaboration, and accountability. Provide training and professional development opportunities to enhance team capabilities.
* Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety regulations and Canyon Solar’s safety policies. Conduct regular safety audits and address any concerns promptly.
* Collaboration Across Teams: Work closely with the project, development, and site teams to align production schedules with project delivery needs. Communicate proactively to address any production challenges or delays.
* Process Optimization: Identify opportunities to improve production processes and implement changes to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance overall performance.
* Reporting: Monitor and report on production performance metrics, including output, efficiency, and quality, to senior management.
Our ideal candidate can be based in the Southern Highlands, where they can embed themselves within the production and site teams or based nearby.

We are looking for individuals who can demonstrate that they:
* Technical Expertise: A trade, engineering background or experience in a similar role is a must.
* Leadership: Proven experience as a team leader with exceptional ability to guide, motivate, and mentor teams to achieve their best.
* Problem-Solving: Skilled in troubleshooting production challenges and ensuring swift corrective actions.
* Communication: Clear and effective communicator with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
* Analytical Skills: Adept at interpreting production data and compliance reports to inform decision-making.
* Digital Savvy: Proficient with tools like Google Workspace and Microsoft Office 365, with a knack for learning new technologies.
* Time Management: Excellent organisational skills, balancing priorities and managing multiple tasks seamlessly.
Essential requirements:
* Excellent computer literacy, including familiarity with different software and/or the ability to quickly learn new software systems. This includes proficiency in the microsoft suite (including Excel).
