The Victorian Department of Education is seeking a Communications Advisor to work in the Communications Division's Portfolio Communications branch, specifically in the Early Childhood team.
About the role:
The Communications Advisor assists to develop, deliver and evaluate strategic communications plans and campaigns.
The Communications Advisor supports the delivery of best-practice and evidence-based communications that concisely communicates the education narrative to our staff and the broader public.
The Communications Advisor, as part of the Early Childhood Portfolio Communications team, collaborates with other teams within the Communications Division, program areas and other key stakeholders to develop integrated communication strategies and campaigns that align to departmental and government priorities and promote the Best Start, Best Life reforms.
The successful applicant will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and demonstrated strategic communications experience.

The role sits within a collaborative, high-performing and supportive team and this is an exciting opportunity for someone to utilise their strategic communications experience and stakeholder management skills.
The Communications Division leads, shapes and supports communication of Victorian Government priorities for early childhood development, school education and vocational education and training. The Division is responsible for taking carriage of the Government's Education State vision by telling the overarching story of education in Victoria.
The role will specifically be responsible for:
* Assist in coordinating, developing and evaluating communication strategies and campaigns
* Coordinating procurement in accordance with the Department's and public sector communications guidelines, including advertising
* Assist in managing key client relationships across the Department
* Provide administrative support to the team as required
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
* excellent verbal and written communication skills
* strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop and maintain partnerships with stakeholders
* the ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines
* experience working in strategic communications
