Project Manager Role Overview
Milestone Infrastructure is seeking a skilled Project Manager to join our Eastern Region Projects Team, focusing on projects in Suffolk at Sizewell C and the Suffolk Highways contract. This position involves delivering projects within Milestone Infrastructure's Projects Sector team, responsible for various civil engineering projects with values ranging from £1-15m.
The successful candidate will lead exciting projects, including the demolition and rebuild of a road bridge, refurbishment of a Grade 1 listed brick structure, and the construction of a 250m long link road. You will work alongside a project delivery team to deliver schemes with interfaces involving Network Rail, Suffolk's Network Management team, and other key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
* Operational Resource Management: Ensure projects are completed to programme, budget, and required SHEQ standards by managing operational resources effectively.
* Team Support and Development: Support, mentor, and coach team members to ensure effective career development and growth.
* Performance Delivery: Deliver time, cost, and quality performance in accordance with targets, processes, and procedures.
* Client and Stakeholder Liaison: Liaise with clients and internal management to ensure compliance with standards, policies, and industry regulations.
* Stakeholder Coordination: Coordinate with key stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes in project planning and delivery.
* Communication and Collaboration: Maintain continuous communication with other Managers within the business to ensure efficient operations and best utilization of resources.
* Senior Relationship Building: Build effective relationships with senior members of the supply chain and client teams.
* Best Practice Implementation: Adopt a proactive approach to identify best practice, implement improvements, gather knowledge, and provide feedback.
* Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure Construction Phase Plans, method statements, and safe systems of work are in place before work starts and that required safety standards are maintained.
* Subcontractor Management: Ensure subcontractors' site personnel are competent and fully trained to undertake their work.
* Commercial Performance: Engage with commercial teams and take responsibility for the commercial performance of the project.
* Record Keeping: Keep accurate records, including site diaries, records of works activities, resource allocations, and as-built information.
* Construction Programmes: Lead the project team in developing construction programmes, phasing plans, and method statements.
* CDM Regulations Compliance: Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations and duties of Principal Contractor role, ensuring adherence to Client H&S Plans and delivery of Site Safety Toolbox Talks.
Skills and Knowledge Requirements
* Civil Engineering Qualification: Civil Engineering or related qualification (SMSTS & CSCS).
* Client Priority Management: Experience of managing client priorities, communication, and expectations.
* Team Leadership: Experience of building and leading large teams.
* Health and Safety Management: Evidence of managing health & safety through the construction phase in a highway and/or rail environment.
* Partnership and Delivery Focus: Knowledge and experience of partnering with a strong delivery focus.
* Civil Engineering Project Management: Demonstrable experience in the successful project management of Civil Engineering, Rail, or Infrastructure schemes.
