Full-time and part-time positions available (Up to 76 fortnightly hours) $97,950 + Super + Salary Packaging* (to increase your take home pay) Positions located in Southern and Northern region The Supporting Emotional Wellness in Aged Care (SEW) provides free individual and group psychological therapies services for people living in residential aged care facilities (RACFs) across metropolitan Adelaide.
This service allows residents of registered RACFs to access free mental health services available to those in the community through the Better Access initiative.
We are looking for passionate, proactive, and experienced individuals to provide psychological therapies onsite at the RACFs.
You will utilise your expertise in delivering meaningful evidence based, time limited psychological therapies adjusted to be responsive to the needs of older people.
You will also be highly motivated to work across all levels of a stepped care framework with a particular focus on meeting the needs of older people experiencing mild to moderate and severe mental health conditions.
Additional qualifications in Art therapy, Music therapy and Animal Assisted will be highly desired.

Who we are looking for To be successful in this role you will have at least one of the following: A tertiary qualification (AQF level 7) in Social Work and registration as a Mental Health Accredited Social Worker with AASW; or A tertiary qualification (AQF level 7) in Psychology, and General registration as a Psychologist with APHRA It would be a bonus if you: Experience working in Aged Care, Mental Health or Medical settings Qualifications in Art Therapy Qualifications in Animal assisted Therapy Qualifications in Music Therapy Demonstrated knowledge and experience in dementia care and assessment Experience in delivering mental health training to clinical staff Experience in delivering group therapy What you will be doing ? The Senior Practitioner provides low-intensity services and psychological therapies for people living in residential aged care facilities (RACFs) delivered 1:1 and or group sessions.
Service delivery will include all levels of the stepped care framework, with a particular focus on meeting the needs of older people experiencing mild to moderate and severe mental health conditions.
The Senior Practitioner will provide an in-reach service delivery model of care, with therapeutic services provided onsite at RACFs.
Deliver high quality services to residents which respond to the needs of a diverse range of groups and communities.
Provide targeted services for residents at risk or who have a former or new diagnosis of mild to moderate and severe mental health conditions.
Assess and triage comorbid conditions that contribute to or are impacted by a person's psychological state.
Undertake a comprehensive screening and risk assessment of issues that relate to safety and well-being.
Provide specific types of evidence-based short-term therapies that have proven to be effective with older people including reminiscence therapies, validation therapy and adjusted cognitive behaviour therapy delivered as 1:1 and or group sessions.
Develop, implement, and deliver therapeutic groups such as grief and loss, reminiscence, and life review therapy.
