Marketing Communications (Marketing & Communications)Government - Federal (Government & Defence)The Assistant Director Communications is responsible for leading the Communications Team and for the day-to-day management of the Agency's communications and social media engagement. The role is also responsible for developing communication strategies and plans and for proactively guiding the agency to deliver and promote high-quality and engaging content for both internal and external stakeholders. Through their management of the small and high performing Communications team, the Assistant Director Communications will oversee ARPANSA's internal and external communications initiatives, including collateral, publications and intranet and website maintenance and management.Key accountabilitiesProvide management oversight to the Communications team to deliver services and operational communications objectivesManage internal communications for the agency to support knowledge management, information sharing and staff engagementCoordinate with the Assistant Director, Media and Engagement to support daily media monitoring, media responses, releases, interviews, events and strategiesLead development and management of social media content and community managementDevelop and oversee the implementation of communications plans to effectively deliver key messages and increase brand awareness for ARPANSAProvide strategic advice to internal clients to develop and implement communication strategies and activitiesDevelop, monitor and educate relevant ARPANSA staff in policies and procedures concerning interactions with the media, use of social media, consistent delivery of ARPANSA's brand and other communications functionsOversee timely review and update of Agency intranet and website contentOur ideal candidate – job specific capabilitiesTo be considered for this position, you will have a track record of successfully working in similar roles and specifically have demonstrated skills in social media management, communication strategy development, and strategic stakeholder engagement.You will have excellent skills in stakeholder engagement including developing and maintaining relationships with partner organisations and media representatives to promote organisational messages and objectives. You will have demonstrated experience developing and implementing communication strategies and campaigns, and experience supporting internal and external communication channels.You will be comfortable managing a small team and possess highly developed communication skills, sound judgement along with the ability to identify relevant emerging issues and respond in a positive and proactive manner.Selection criteriaThere are four selection criteria for this role.
