The opportunity:
Due to significant growth, Komatsu is seeking multiple trade-qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanics (or similar) to become a part of the Service Department in Townsville, Bowen, Collinsville, Queensland. Working as a Field Service Technician you will get the benefit of a true even time roster (7/7) as well as the ability to travel to and from site in a Komatsu supplied vehicle. Your role will vary day to day in support of construction and quarry customers throughout North Queensland to mining fleets in the Bowen basin. The role acts as a conduit between the customer, customer support team and the branch.

Key responsibilities:
8. Performing services, diagnostics, repairs and maintenance on a range of Komatsu mobile equipment
9. Maintaining high levels of safety, quality and efficiency
10. Testing and adjusting of machine operation and monitoring systems (utilising relevant literature and testing equipment)
11. Coordinating site-based equipment maintenance projects (in particular, coordinating job packet requirements, following job scope and critical path)
12. Generating required technical/service reports (such as service reports and TSI & warranty claim processes)
The knowledge, skills and abilities we’re looking for:
13. Trade Qualification: Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or similar
14. A level of technical understanding & function of Komatsu equipment is an advantage
15. Knowledge and previous experience repairing and maintaining earthmoving equipment or components
16. Post trade field service experience is desirable.
17. Current C category car licence with view to upgrade to MR licence as required.
18. Ability to obtain all current tickets including first aid, forklift, work at heights etc
19. A demonstrated commitment to safety with the ability to work in remote areas and unsupervised
20. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and understanding of computer basic systems
