About the role:
We are seeking an individual to join our team based in our Hunter Veteran and Family Hub in a newly created position, an Engagement & Community Officer. In this role, you will be an integral member of the team supporting current and former Defence personnel and their families.
Please note the Hub is temporarily based in Newcastle but will be relocating to Maitland.
This is a varied customer-facing role, responsible for a range of initiatives including Event Management, Marketing & Social Media, Community Service liaison and being “the face” of the Hub. A true advocate for our client base, you will be genuinely invested in supporting current and former ADF personnel and have a kind and empathetic nature.
A bit about you:
* Ability to establish and build meaningful relationships internally and externally
* Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following: Event Management, Social Media & Marketing, Community and/or Welfare Services
* Highly developed communication skills with the ability to prioritise, manage and problem solve
* Knowledge of or experience working with Australian Defence Force personnel
* Cert IV in Community Services an advantage
