About the role:
As Public Policy Analyst, you will work closely with TWE's Director of Public Affairs and the global Public Affairs function to provide critical policy research, analysis, and advocacy support on regulatory and political matters.
Policy Research and Analysis Conduct thorough research and analysis of existing and emerging regulations, legislation, and political trends affecting alcohol and health public policy, sustainability, tax reform, and trade relations.
Identify and assess potential risks, opportunities, and impacts on TWE's business operations and strategic objectives.
Regulatory and Legislative Monitoring Continuously monitor global, regional, and local regulatory environments for changes in laws, industry codes of practice, and government policies.
Provide timely updates and insights to internal stakeholders to inform decision-making and strategic planning.
Policy Writing and Advocacy Draft concise and impactful policy briefs, position papers, and formal submissions on key issues, ensuring alignment with TWE's business objectives and advocacy goals.
Collaborate with industry associations, government bodies, and advocacy groups to develop coordinated policy responses.
Strategic Advice and Insights Provide expert insights and recommendations to the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), Global Leadership Group (GLG), and Divisional and Supply leadership teams on regulatory developments and advocacy strategies.
Support internal teams with data-driven analysis and advice to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities.
Cross-functional Collaboration Work closely with the Public Affairs, Sustainability, Legal, and Corporate Affairs teams to align on messaging and advocacy strategies.
Support cross-functional projects that advance TWE's corporate reputation and sustainability commitments.
Knowledge Management and Reporting Maintain a repository of key policy documents, regulatory updates, and submissions to support organizational learning.
Prepare regular reports on policy trends and developments for leadership and other internal stakeholders.
About you:
Bachelor's degree in relevant field such as political science, public policy, law or business administration.
Strong analytical skills and a demonstrated ability to scan the internal and external environment to identify emerging policy issues.
Proficient skills set in budget controls, evaluations, analytics, and interpretation.
Strong issues management, communications, and advocacy skills and capability.
Ability to build, manage and maintain effective stakeholder relationships and analyse, engage and influence stakeholders.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills – fluency in English.
Strong interpersonal and organisational skills.
Focussed on getting the job done and driving results while being a team player.
High impact operator with excellent time management skills.
A great listener with the ability to direct, while taking direction.
Attention to detail and excellent writing and presentation skills essential.
Professional and logical approach to problem solving.
Must be self-motivated and able to act on own initiative.
High level of negotiation as well as organisational strategic planning.
