Could you be the full-time onsite Production Unit (EPU) Manager in Ballarat we’re looking for?
Alstom Ballarat are proud to announce the newly created opportunity for a Production Unit (EPU) Manager to come on board to support our Night Shift Operations initially, with the role then transiting to Day Shift in the future. This position will join an existing team, providing support, collaboration and teamwork as you work together in the pursuit of Production targets for the X’Trapolis 2.0 project. The core of this role is overseeing the manufacturing activities for a specific unit and leading a team to produce key deliverables in conjunction with internal teams and in line with contractual obligations. This position is a permanent, full-time role and reports to the Production Manager.
You will be responsible for time management (presence management and activity management) of all employees and assuring compliance with the local legislation and accountable for the time reconciliation. You will ensure the manufacturing preparation of the activity is proactively aligned with Production KPI’s to ensure deliverables are met.
Your future role:
* Leading a team of operators including monitoring and management of training, qualifications, and tasks
* Resourcing for the particular unit (short and long term) and ensuring appropriate skills and qualifications to meet delivery targets
* Collaborate with several teams to forecast, plan and mitigate potential risks or delays in response to the Master Production Schedule (MPS)
* Be accountable for the industrial process handover from engineering to manufacturing
* Deploy and oversee the internal continuous improvement system (APSYS) and associated activities to support an ongoing effort to improve, streamline and reduce waste
* Manage the SQCD performance for the activities within the respective unit and track all associated KPI’s, ensuring optimisation of work stations
* Model and implement a safety-first culture, ensuring quality and cost effective outputs are achieved
We are looking for a passionate, experienced leader who prides themselves on making safety, quality and people their priority, with existing experience from the manufacturing industry.

* Demonstrated people leadership skills
* Proven influencing, negotiation and communication skills
* Detailed understanding of manufacturing processes, systems and technologies
* Capable analytical skills with a strong attention to detail and planning abilities
