Job Description
You will be working closely with two pre-eminent Partners in a leading national firm. Our client is looking for a talented and professional self-starter who can help with providing pragmatic and solutions-focused advice to Commonwealth Government clients (including senior level officials), mentor and supervise other lawyers, help grow the practice and help foster a strong team environment. You will have the opportunity to work on complex, interesting and high profile projects.
You will need to be able to gain the trust and confidence of their clients, bring a level-headed and strategic perspective to problem-solving, and strong legal drafting skills and attention to detail. A positive and facilitative 'can do' attitude to problem-solving is also a must!
The Successful Applicant
We are looking for someone with the following skills and experience:
* At least 5 years' experience as a lawyer working with government clients,
* General commercial law and contracting experience,
* Strong understanding of public sector procurement and grants frameworks,
* Good understanding of public sector ethical and probity principles,
* Strong emotional intelligence and inter-personal skills,
* A collaborative, team-focused attitude,
* A keenness to learn and help others learn,
