JOB DESCRIPTIONWood is recruiting for a Senior Structural Engineer (Oil & Gas) to join our team in Darwin.
This is a long-term opportunity to join our expanding Oil and Gas Operations team, due to recently securing several large projects with existing long-term clients, in addition to a new and significant brownfields engineering opportunity with a major player in the LNG industry.Wood's Operations APAC (West) business delivers brownfields engineering, procurement, construction, maintenance, optimization and technical services to the Oil & Gas sector and enjoys long-term partnerships with the region's most prominent producers located in Western Australia, Northern Territory and Southeast Asia.Reporting to the Principal Structural Engineer, you will be working across FEED / Execution to EPCM delivery, with a focus on design.
To be successful in your Senior Structural Engineer role, you will have prior Senior engineer level working experience in the Offshore LNG, Oil & Gas sectors within an EPCM engineering and maintenance project environment with both onshore and offshore scope of work engagements.RESPONSIBILITIESYour responsibilities will be:Structural engineering activities across the project life cycle (Concept, FEED, detailed design) to produce fit for purpose solutionProduce cost effective Structural engineering reports, documents and deliverables for inclusion in workpacksEnsure as far as practically possible all assigned work is carried out in compliance with agreed budget and scheduleProvide technical assistance to others when requiredQUALIFICATIONSYou must reside in Australia to be considered for this role.
This is also a Visa Sponsorship opportunity.Ideally, you will be a suitably qualified engineer with a degree from a recognized institution and have proven experience in the Oil & Gas sector in Australia.In addition, you will have:6+ years relevant experience as a Structural Engineer in Oil & GasExperience in Offshore site environment and site surveying/scopingStrong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with the clientEffective time management skills and ability to prioritiseExperience in the use of relevant software packages (e.g.
