The Position
We are currently looking for a suitably experienced Ophthalmology Staff Specialist seeking a permanent role in Northern Queensland (Multiple positions available).
This is a great opportunity for a rewarding career change at a large regional tertiary referral hospital with a growing role in teaching and the professional development of Interns, HMOs and Registrars. The department are flexible on either a Full Time Staff Specialist appointment or Part Time appointment/s.
The successful candidate/s will provide comprehensive ophthalmology services across a wide range of pathologies and patient age within the Department of Ophthalmology. Working within the team charter of Ophthalmology to build a collegiate team and happy workplace. The incumbent provides support to the Director Ophthalmology in leading and participating in service development activities in respect of the Ophthalmology Department within their realm of responsibility.

Essential Criteria
* Be registered or be eligible for specialist registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
* Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists or equivalent or evidence of working towards this. Candidates who will be obtaining fellowship in the near future are encouraged to apply. Appointment will be at a lower classification level until minimum requirements for the Staff Specialist classification are obtained.
The Package
* Salary range of $204,206 - $258,910 p.a. (full-time) or $97.84 - $124.05 p.h. (part-time) (+ applicable allowances/benefits)
* 17.5% Recreational Leave Loading and 12.75% Employer Contribution to Superannuation
* Attraction and retention incentive allowance (50% base salary)
* Regional and rural attraction allowance (5% base salary)
* Motor vehicle allowance between $21,000 and $25,500 p.a.
* Professional development allowance of $21,500 p.a. + 3.6 weeks p.a. leave
