About the Role: As an Enrolled Nurse in our Older Person’s Mental Health Team, you will assist in the provision of a broad range of structured activities and programs designed to support our consumers. You will work with others in a collaborative and supportive team in providing quality clinical services to mental health consumers, their families and carers. In this role you will work in our Transitional Behavioural Assessment and Intervention Service (T – BASIS) located in Wagga Wagga. This is an 8 bed unit which provides multidisciplinary assessment, care planning and intensive treatment for older people with severe behavioural disturbance associated with dementia and / or mental illness. The Older Persons Mental Health services include: Multidisciplinary community services Acute and non-acute inpatient units/services Community OPMH partnership services, including residential aged care services, and programs. Experience Required : Current AHPRA registration as an Enrolled Nurse Demonstrated experience in/or knowledge of the complexities and challenges involved in caring for consumers within the Mental Health acute unit for older persons unit (SMHSOPs) and the transitional behavioural assessment and intervention service (TBASIS) unit. Understanding of the concept and principles of mental health recovery and commitment to implementing a strengths based model of care designed to facilitate consumer recovery.
