The Department
The MSBase Foundation is an independent not-for-profit organisation that owns and operates a unique international collaborative registry - The MSBase Registry. MSBase is designed for clinicians working in the field of multiple sclerosis (MS) and other neuroimmunological diseases (NIDs).
The MSBase Foundation supports Registry members by providing freely available data-entry tools, scientific and governance support. The Registry commenced in 2004 and has accumulated over 85,000 patient records from forty countries, and is the largest organised global repository of longitudinal, 'real-world' MS patient data. The Registry aims to advance collaborative outcomes research to better understand neuroimmunological diseases and to improve healthcare for those living with MS or other NIDs.
The MSBase office is housed in the Monash Central Clinical School (CCS), located on level 6 of the Alfred Centre. The CCS is a centre for clinical and biomedical research and education and a core hub for, covering a great breadth of subject areas.

The Role
The MSBase Foundation is looking for a talented Azure specialist (Cloud & DevOps Engineer) to join our team as we embark on an exciting and innovative cloud modernisation program including development of a new web app, and redevelopment of key components of the existing Azure infrastructure in January of 2024.
This essential role will be embedded in the MSBase and partner development team from the start of the Project.
This is a challenging role with interesting complexities, that will be richly rewarding, and have a significant impact on the future operations of MSBase. We want you to bring your own ideas to the table, and to have a critical voice in the direction of both the product and future tech roadmap. We are looking for a clear communicator and a strong team player with an agile mindset. In this unique and exciting position, you will be reporting to the MSBase Head of IT, working closely, and collaborating with our award-winning Microsoft Azure Technology Partner.
It is expected that this role will have a growth path towards an Azure “DevSecOps” engineer, eventually assuming responsibility for security compliance and will be the primary technical in-house expert looking after the Azure platform.
Some after-work hours may be required occasionally to participate in evening teleconferences, with offshore technology partners and stakeholders.
Essential Skills
7. Bachelor’s degree / equivalent plus minimum 5 years previous experience in similar technical role(s).
8. Microsoft Certified (Various certifications will be considered, specifically Azure specialisation areas)
9. Flexibility, transparent & collaborative approach to ways of working.
10. Underlying development experience as a full-stack developer, with focus on .NET and/or Azure tech stack
11. Core understanding of Azure Cloud services, IaaS and PaaS offerings, governance, and architecture
12. Experience configuring Azure DevOps and CI/CD Pipelines
13. Experience using Azure Board, JIRA, Trello, and similar tools.
14. Experience working in Agile methodology (Scrum/Kanban/etc.)
