The Team: The Office of the Chief Nurse and Midwifery Officer (OCNMO) is a small, high performing, outcomes-focused team. The OCNMO provides strategic leadership and professional practice advice on a diverse range of issues relating to the nursing and midwifery professions. Our priorities focus on, but are not limited to, strategic planning, policy, workforce, research, education, and training locally, nationally, and internationally. The Role: Research, analyse and develop policy that guides professional practice in nursing and midwifery, and is consistent with agreed national and statewide strategies.Provide expert policy advice to the Chief Nurse and Midwifery Officer to inform future statewide policy direction for nursing and midwifery professional practice.Build effective and productive networks with internal and external stakeholders to develop statewide nursing and midwifery policy aimed at promoting future workforce capacity across the Agency.Provide leadership and expert facilitation and consultation skills to achieve agreed outcomes with internal and external key stakeholders. You will need: Extensive knowledge and experience in the development and implementation of nursing and midwifery policy to support professional practice.Broad and demonstrated understanding of the strategic issues relating to the current healthcare system and knowledge of national and international trends relating to nursing and midwifery workforce and service delivery.Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to develop and maintain productive networks with internal and external stakeholders and support effective teamwork within the unit.Details of appointment:Fixed term full-time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for a period of approximately twelve (12) months. Salary: $138,478 per annum.
