About The Team
Social Infrastructure & Citizen Services delivers the critical thinking, building, maintenance and sustainment behind Australia and New Zealand’s essential public assets, facilities and community services. The communities we serve are at the heart of our operations. Be it through facilities management of critical public assets, precinct upgrades, new energy solutions or professional and technical advisory. We run places of healthcare and education, custodial facilities, we manage customer data centres and critical systems, we take asset management risk over 25 years through our portfolio of Public Private Partnership (PPP) contracts, and we are a trusted advisor and partner to our New Zealand and Australian Defence Forces.
The Project
The Riverina Redevelopment Joint Venture is a 50/50 joint venture between CPB Contractors and Downer to undertake major upgrades and replacement of existing infrastructure and facilities to support Defence capability for the next 30 years.
The proposed project consists of a program of works across three Department of Defence establishments including:
* Albury Wodonga Military Area (including North, South & East Bandiana, Latchford Barracks, Wirlinga)
* Blamey Barracks (Kapooka)
* RAAF Base Wagga
The proposed capital investment of $1.7b will incorporate a variety of elements including:
* Construction of new messing and living in accommodation
* Construction of new training facilities
* Refurbishment and upgrading of existing buildings
* Remedial works and upgrades to infrastructure services
Your opportunity
We are looking for experienced Project Engineers to join the project team. You will manage and provide direction to the team to deliver the project in accordance with the specified requirements and client expectations. Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
* Contribute to a culture of 'Safety underpins everything we do’.
* Manage the effective set-up, delivery and completion of the project including establishing relevant systems.
* Manage and monitor the completion of the project to ensure program, budget, quality, environmental and contractual obligations are achieved and take prompt corrective action where required.
* Review design and construction plans, schedules, temporary works designs, method statements and job safety analysis and quality.
* Monitor project progress against the program and budget.
* Prepare accurate project reports and provide reporting on project risks and opportunities.
* Effectively assign tasks to project team members to deliver the required outputs to agreed specifications.
* Ensure the project is adequately resourced to deliver project requirements within the program and contractual agreements.
* Monitor KPIs and productivity analysis against program and budget.
To Be Successful in This Role You Must Have
* Australian citizenship preferred for Defence site entry requirements.
* Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering.
* Experience as a Project Engineer on a large-scale project in the Construction industry.
* Demonstrated commercial experience to include planning up to 3 months ahead, weekly reporting on progress against plan and cost, reporting on risk and developing and implementing risk treatment plans.
* Strong attitude and awareness of Safety.
* High level verbal and written communication skills.
* Excellent planning and organising skills; and negotiation and influencing skills.
* A problem solver and strategic thinker.
* Completion of a relevant Institute of Applied Technology - Construction course is highly regarded.
These roles are based in Wagga Wagga. There is an attractive relocation package that includes removalist costs and LAFHA (for eligible individuals) OR FIFO/DIDO options are available.
