Associate Director Inclusive and Diverse LearningAssociate Director Inclusive and Diverse Learning St Joseph's offers an inclusive and non-discriminating learning community to young people, who for a variety of reasons, make the choice to attend a specialised learning environment. St Joseph's operates across multiple campuses, located in North Melbourne, Geelong, Colac, Ballarat, and a dual engagement virtual learning campus, BlendED. The young people who attend have typically experienced one or more significant and complex educational, social, developmental, psychological, health, legal or familial situations which demand unique responses.We are seeking an excellent leader who will oversee the Inclusive and Diverse Learning Unit within the Saints Knowledge Institute (SKI), which comprises three sub-portfolios:Research and Knowledge Translation; including NCCD, Disability standards for Education.Professional learning/coaching in Disability, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion in Learning; expertise, insights and advice to facilitate and support an equitable learning environment for young people.Policy and Advocacy; leading Education Disability Inclusion Action.This role will initially be focused on supporting the implementation of these activities by contributing their leadership as a subject matter expert and experienced practitioner in the broad area of equity and disability service delivery. This work will also involve supporting the Line Manager to refine the operating model of a new Institute Model and design and construct the Inclusive and Diverse Learning Unit that will be launched in early 2025 (subject to VRQA Approval).This new role will be a key leader, responsible for enabling the design, development, and delivery of equitable and accessible flexible education for young people, with significant scope to contribute to the development of new ways of working and new student experiences that are enhanced through an uplift in technology and resourcing. A knowledgeable leader in the field, the incumbent will be well versed in the external regulatory environment and best practice in the sector to ensure the new Institute is at the forefront of knowledge creation and innovation in the flexible learning landscape for young people.This role is a full-time 1.0FTE ongoing position, based at our Carlton office, working both in the office and from home, with travel to school sites.
