About the role Mater Education has an exciting opportunity for two Simulation Assistants to join the team in a permanent full-time position with one role based at South Brisbane and one role based at Springfield. The Simulation Assistant role plays a vital role in supporting program faculty to deliver a range of simulation activities by ensuring the preparation, maintenance and logistic operations of simulation equipment and environments. This role contributes to the smooth operation of simulation services within Mater Education facilities. Salary range: $31.24 - $33.68 (OO Level 2) per hour plus 11.5% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 access to many staff benefits What you’ll be doing Promote and provide an effective and safe working environment by managing and maintaining the physical environment of the simulation areas under the supervision of the Simulation Leader. The main duties of the role will include: Prepare simulated environments, equipment and resources in accordance with activity requirements, including rooms, equipment, resources, consumables and documentation Coordinate with program faculty to understand specific simulation needs Dismantle the simulated environment ensuring all equipment is appropriately cleaned, checked and stored Utilise primary level technical proficiency to support aspects of equipment operation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair for simulation resources Conduct simulation equipment preventive and scheduled maintenance, pre and post use inspection as per organisation and manufacturer’s instructions to ensure functionality and safety standards are maintained Order and maintain consumables, stores and simulation resources Keep accurate records of inventory levels and usage to ensure adequate supplies are always available Undertake administrative duties and maintain good working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders About you To be considered for this role you must have: Familiar and experienced with a healthcare environment Experience in a simulation centre or simulation education (highly desirable) Sound understanding of simulation equipment and operation (highly desirable) Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Teams Strong interpersonal and professional communication skills both written and verbal Proven ability to work effectively both individually and as a valuable contributor within a team environment Applications close on Friday, 11th April 2025.
