Due to an internal promotion, Baptist Care SA is seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to provide strategic leadership and operational accountability to the organisation on a 12-month contract basis.Role Overview Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the CFO is responsible for providing advice and analysis on all strategic and operational aspects of financial management for the organisation. The CFO will provide strategic and operational leadership to the Finance, Information Systems, Property & Fleet and Procurement teams to ensure professional performance in line with contemporary best practice principles. Key responsibilities of the role include: Effective management of and improvement of the financial, payroll and accounting systems whilst ensuring adherence to accounting policies, procedures and practices; Maximise Baptist Care SA’s financial strength through effective revenue, expense and cash flow management as well as appropriate investment strategies;Prepare and analyse monthly financial reports for the Board and management. Develop and review budgets in consultation with key staff and monitor performance against budget; Ensure IT infrastructure, data, reporting and business systems are adequate and support the organisation’s needs;Ensure residential assets, leased properties, company fleet and any ancillary assets are maintained to relevant regulations, standards and codes;Review new contractual documents to ensure consistency with Baptist Care SA’s negotiated position and identification of compliance obligations and reporting responsibilities;Engage with a range of stakeholders including external auditors and funders to ensure Baptist Care SA meets all requirements for annual financial statements. Skills, Knowledge and Experience The successful candidate must be tertiary qualified and possess CA/CPA qualifications (or equivalent) along with excellent communication, strong collaboration and executive leadership skills. The role requires sound understanding of advanced accounting, regulatory issues and planning as well as the ability to build strong relationships and strategic partnerships with Baptist Care SA’s stakeholders. Prior experience leading and supporting through a period of change, selecting and overseeing software implementation and knowledge of accounting and reporting software is a must. Experience working within community services and faith-based communities is desirable.
