Thank you for considering a career with us.As a global resources company that mines, explores and develops base metal projects globally, MMG offers a wide variety of career pathways.Job no: 500484Work type: Permanent Full TimeLocation: Rosebery MineProduction EngineersWe currently have two exciting opportunities for Production Engineers to be based at our Rosebery, Underground Operation in Tasmania.These roles provide a critical link between the technical and operational teams, ensuring safe and efficient execution of drilling, blasting, development, and backfilling activities.By focusing on process improvements, the role of Operations Engineer aims to maximize ore recovery, minimize drilling, and optimize waste management.Responsibilities include (however not limited to):Collaborate with Production Engineers, Operations Superintendents, and Shift Supervisors to ensure shift plans align with operational targets.Provide input into weekly schedules, prioritizing practicality, accuracy, and alignment with broader mine planning objectives.Act as a key link between technical and operational teams, ensuring the long-term mine plan supports short-term execution.Facilitate smooth shift handovers by delivering clear, accurate, and actionable information.Develop drill designs using Deswik UGDB, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.Maintain continuous drilling operations by ensuring plans are completed on time and work sites are prepared.Optimise the supply of blasted material to meet haulage targets through:Timely boretrak surveys and interpretations.Preparation of charge plans for firing crews.Coordination and execution of firing plans.Blast design improvements to enhance drill rig efficiency, minimize remote loading, and optimise stockpile management.Ensure explosives stock levels comply with statutory limits and operational needs.Conduct QA/QC assessments across underground operations, including production drilling, charging, cabolting, jumbo development, backfilling, hauling, and services.Perform weekly inspections of drilling, development, rehabilitation, and backfill sites, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.Validate and correct PitRAM data daily to maintain accurate operational metrics.Prepare and analyse daily reports on planned, developed, drilled, and fired stocks, including tonnage and drill meters.Contribute to weekly and monthly variance reports, identifying trends and opportunities for process improvements.Monitor short-term equipment performance, promptly addressing issues to minimize downtime and enhance productivity.Collaborate with operations teams to ensure adherence to schedules and compliance with planned activities.Adjust plans in response to real-time operational challenges, clearly communicating changes to all stakeholders.Undertake additional tasks as required to support continuous improvement and operational excellence.Competencies, qualifications and skills:Degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent.2–5 years of experience in underground metalliferous mining, demonstrating a solid understanding of operational and technical requirements.At least 1 year of hands-on underground experience as an operator, including time spent in both development and production environments.Read and write a shift plan and understand a weekly plan.Strong written and verbal English communication skills, capable of conveying technical and operational information clearly across diverse teams.Ability to quickly adapt to changing operational variables and dynamic underground mining environments while maintaining focus on priorities.Demonstrated ability to perform effectively and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations.Comprehensive knowledge of underground mining methods, equipment, and processes, with a focus on operational efficiency and safety.Proficiency in mine design, incorporating geotechnical, economic, and operational considerations to optimize resource extraction.Knowledge of underground ventilation principles, ensuring compliance with safety standards and support of operational requirements.Thorough understanding of current relevant Mining Acts and Regulations, ensuring all activities are performed within statutory guidelines.Demonstrate effective performance in achieving agreed SHEC goals that support the department site and company standards.What we offer:Flexible working and commute arrangements.A safety-first culture.An attractive remuneration, accommodation, and relocation support.A workplace that fosters diversity and inclusiveness, and supports our people with the systems, skills, and behaviours required to live our values.Short Term Incentive Program.If you share our values and feel that you could make a meaningful difference in this role, please apply online.Advertised: 07 Feb 2025 Tasmania Daylight TimeApplications close: 27 Mar 2025 Tasmania Daylight Time
