Position Overview
Become a vital part of our Cairns multidisciplinary Allied Health Services team at the groundbreaking Spinal Life Healthy Living Centre. Located on the beautiful Cairns Esplanade, we offer not only short-term, accessible accommodation but also a comprehensive range of Allied Health services including a state-of-the-art rehabilitation gym and indoor hydrotherapy pool.
Our goal is to bring specialized care closer to home for Far North Queenslanders, fostering independence and enhancing quality of life. Part time or Full-time opportunity. For the right candidate we would assist with some relocation costs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct thorough client assessments to understand and address their physical needs.
* Trial and recommend appropriate equipment to optimize client functionality.
* Prepare and manage funding applications to secure essential assistive technology and supports.
* Advocate for clients' personal support needs and assist with funding applications.
* Provide expert advice on equipment and lifestyle management, including pressure area care.
* Complete assessments for home modifications and submit detailed reports.
* Empower individuals through tailored strategies and advocate for their lifestyle choices.
* Deliver hands-on upper limb therapy in both individual and group settings.
What You Need to Succeed:
* Current AHPRA registration and a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy.
* Demonstrated ability to manage and coordinate caseloads independently.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Proven track record of achieving high-level outcomes for clients.
* Experience working with individuals with Spinal Cord Injury or physical disabilities preferred.
* Familiarity with fee-for-service environments is advantageous.
