The Role
This newly created position in our Financial Accounting team will see you take part in the day-to-day finances, reporting, technical accounting, and management accounting.
This is a permanent, full time position based at our Kwinana head office with some flexibility offered.
Key Responsibilities
1. Maintenance of Covalent’s reporting calendar and day to day financial records
2. Assist with month end closing process, including preparation of monthly trial balances, pro forma financials and balance sheet reconciliations.
3. Assist with preparing accounting papers
4. Assist with preparing and maintaining appropriate accounting policies and procedures
5. Design and implement efficient business processes that will enhance Covalent's governance framework
6. Monitoring accounts to ensure compliance with accounting standards and Covalent policies.
7. Assist with the preparation of year end statutory financial statements
8. Assist with all financial audits (internal, external, SOX) ensuring information is provided in an accurate and timely manner
9. Assist with providing financial information to Covalent's shareholders
10. Assist with maintaining the finance modules within SAP, in particular fixed assets.
11. Collaborate with a variety of internal stakeholders to assist with transferring system and process knowledge and troubleshooting issues that present.
12. Assist with Covalent's annual corporate planning activities
13. Treasury activities, daily cash management interactions between SAP and the banks
Role Requirements
1. Bachelor of Commerce degree (Majoring in Accounting/Finance)
2. CA/CPA qualified or working towards completion
3. Minimum of 3 years’ experience.
4. Previous experience in mining industry preferred.
5. Previous experience in using SAP preferred
6. Comprehensive technical accounting knowledge
7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
