Chief Workforce Officer

Job Summary:
* Lead the HR team and be responsible for the day-to-day operational responsibilities of Employee Relations and Recruitment teams.
* Report to the HR General Manager and contribute to strategic planning and decision-making.
* Develop and implement HR strategies that align with the organisation's goals and objectives.
About the Role:
The Chief Workforce Officer plays a key organisational role to ensure that Congress has a trained and dedicated workforce to service the needs of its community. This is a senior management position that requires strong leadership and interpersonal skills, as well as a deep understanding of industrial relations and contemporary management practices.
Responsibilities:
1. Lead and manage the HR team, providing guidance and support to achieve team goals and objectives.
2. Develop and implement HR strategies, policies and procedures that align with the organisation's goals and objectives.
3. Contribute to strategic planning and decision-making, working closely with the HR General Manager and other senior leaders.
4. Manage employee relations, including conflict resolution, performance management and disciplinary actions.
5. Oversee recruitment and selection processes, ensuring that the right people are hired for the right roles.
Requirements:
* University qualifications in a relevant field (e.g. Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration).
* Strong knowledge of industrial relations and contemporary management practices.
* Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, build rapport and manage conflict.
* Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with a positive attitude to innovation and change.
* Ability to work effectively in a culturally diverse environment, with a strong commitment to cultural safety and respect.
