About the team
The Chief Information Officer Division (CIO Division) is an exciting, fast-paced division that drives the digital agenda for the Department of Industry, Science and Resources. Leading the delivery of the department’s digital offerings, the CIO Division partners with business areas and stakeholders to:
Realise the digital policy objectives of the Department
Define the Departments digital landscape
Drive the innovation and transformation of its IT services
The ICT Operations Branch sits within the Chief Information Officer Division (CIOD). It is responsible for managing the department’s ICT services and transforming its digital landscape.
The branch is comprised of teams that support:
Network and Infrastructure
Digital Delivery and Governance
Server Operations
Corporate systems
Cloud Platforms
Corporate and Digital Support (service desks)
Desktop and Executive ICT Support
IT Service Management
Regional ICT support for remote sites
The opportunity
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Delivery Manager to oversee team deliverables and ICT operations projects within Networks and Infrastructure Platforms Section.
The ideal candidate will manage end-to-end delivery of ICT projects, ensuring alignment with division goals, and maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency. This role requires strong leadership, excellent project management skills, and a deep understanding of ICT operations.

Our ideal candidate
The ideal candidate will have:
Strong understanding of ICT infrastructure and systems integration.
Proven experience as a Delivery Manager, Project Manager, or similar role in ICT operations projects.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritise effectively and adapt to changing demands.
Strong stakeholder management skills with effective communication within leadership groups to achieve shared goals.
Excellent interpersonal skills, and a track record of leading teams to deliver positive outcomes.
Ability to cultivate an inclusive work environment that values diverse perspectives.
What you will do
As Delivery Manager, your responsibilities will include:
Partner with business areas across the department to deliver high quality digital services and develop strategic future-focussed product and hardware roadmaps.
Developing and implementing workplans that provide strategic direction for the work area, including the management and allocation of resourcing.
Managing financial budgets, lead procurement and recruitment activities.
Monitoring work progress and performance, proactively resolving issues for smooth execution.
Conducting regular check-in meetings and providing updates to executives and stakeholders.
Managing stakeholder communication and expectations of team deliverables.
Prioritising effectively to ensure deliverables and outcomes are achieved.
Maintaining expertise in relevant areas to guide activities effectively.
Mentoring and coaching project team members to foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
Implementing best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to optimise ICT operations and project delivery processes.
Eligibility
Note that there may be occasional after hours work as a part of this role, to assist in the coordination of releasing changes.
To be eligible for employment in the APS and the department, candidates must be Australian Citizens.
Positions require a Baseline security clearance and successful candidates will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.
