Job Description About the Opportunity As Senior Marketing and Communications Manager, you will provide strategic marketing and communications direction, leadership, and expert advice to one of our four academic portfolios, ensuring alignment with the University’s overall strategy. You will be responsible for developing, managing, and implementing marketing and communications initiatives to drive student recruitment, reputation, and research objectives. You will be a crucial part of the Product Marketing management team and collaborate closely with senior University leaders, including the Pro Vice Chancellor, Deans, and senior managers, to deliver impactful marketing and communications initiatives. You will lead cross-functional teams and oversee the execution of multi-channel activities that elevate the University's positioning. Key Responsibilities You will: Develop and implement strategic marketing and communications initiatives to support student recruitment, reputation-building, and research impact. Provide high-level strategic advice to the Pro Vice Chancellor and senior leadership within an academic portfolio. Lead and manage marketing and communications staff, ensuring collaboration, alignment, and effective delivery of initiatives. Oversee multi-channel marketing campaigns, ensuring their success through data analysis and performance optimisation. Lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate marketing efforts with broader University priorities, applying an agile approach. Leverage insights and analytics to measure and refine marketing effectiveness. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive engagement. Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and University policies while championing ethical and professional behaviour. About you To be successful in this role, you will have: At least five years’ experience in strategic marketing, communications, and leadership in a complex organisational environment. Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to provide expert strategic advice to senior leaders. A track record of successfully leading teams and delivering impactful marketing initiatives. A deep understanding of data-driven decision-making, including marketing analytics and audience insights. Applied knowledge of marketing tools such as GA4 and campaign dashboards. As well as project management tools such as Asana. Exceptional communication, collaboration, project management and problem-solving skills. A tertiary qualification in marketing, communications, business, or a related field, combined with significant relevant experience. Experience within the higher education sector will be an advantage and is highly desirable.
